Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

When my child was born early, we had no idea what we were going to do. I had to take extra time off from work, medical bills were mounting, and there was absolutely nobody who could help us. It's a miracle that we managed to keep up with everything but our rent, but that's probably our most important bill, and we've been living under the threat of eviction ever since we got behind. With this child especially, I didn't know what we would do if we were evicted, but finally, that nightmare is over. My family and I are so grateful to all of you who helped us. We will definitely be paying it forward. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

High-Risk Pregnancy and Premature Birth, New Parents Need Rental Help

My Story:

My fiance and I have a beautiful six month old daughter. I work part time at a hair salon and he works in promotions at a radio station. We both love our jobs and love our daughter so much. We also have two rambunctious fur babies, Zeus and Salem.

We got pregnant last spring and it came as a surprise. I have stage three chronic kidney disease and therefore my pregnancy was extremely high risk. We both worked full time until about September when my kidney function started to plummet. I was hospitalized four times and had minor surgery to place a nephrostomy tube in my kidney. This relieved some of the pressure my body was going through but in turn, I began to miss weeks and weeks of work that were unpaid. We had our daughter prematurely in January this year, she was healthy but I went through quite a struggle. I had an unpaid maternity leave and ever since last year, we just have not been able to get back on our own two feet. We need Modest Needs help with our rent.

Your assistance will change our situation by allowing us to get back current on our rent and letting us know we will have a place to live. None of us have family in town so we really will be out on the streets if we do not receive some help. We personally would pay it forward if we were able to receive this funding.
