Hi, Thank you to all the people that help to fund my application with modest needs. You are a life saver and I really appreciate the assistance. It has been difficult for me to become used to my life with the amputation and the stress of not having a roof over my head made it worse. thank you again for being my angels.

Please Help This Single Woman Keep Her Home As She Heals From Leg Amputation

My Story:

I am a 58 year old woman that lives alone here in Arizona. I am retired and living off of my retirement income. I have a Labrador mix with German shepherd whom I cannot currently take care of. I like to read and listen to jazz music.

I earn enough money to pay for my basic expenses every month but I live paycheck to paycheck. I do not have any savings set aside for an emergency. I have suffered medical issues recently, my foot was swollen for 4 days and after 4 days I noticed blisters. My daughter came over to check on me and took me to the emergency room. The doctors scraped the skin off my feet as much as possible, they said I had a skin eating infection. They said it was very aggressive and was deeper than they could reach so they needed to amputate my leg. I needed to make the decision while it was below the knee, and if I waited too long it may go above the knee. I thought about it and after 4 days I allowed them to amputate my left leg. I was sent to another hospital so I could go to the bariatric chamber for treatments. While I was in the hospital I was hoping back to my bed from the bathroom where I fell and broke my ankle in 3 places. I was in the hospital for over 2 months. Once I left the hospital I had to buy equipment, pay co-pays, medication, medical supplies and transportation back and forth to my appointments. I am in a real financial bind. I need Modest Needs' help with my rent.

If I am evicted I don't have the money for new deposits for another place right now and its difficult for me to get around. I am wheel chair bound. This funding will allow me to get caught up and not stress while I am trying to heal. I have to learn how to walk all over again, I have to learn how to adapt to my current situation and my life now. I am very stressed which prompts other things to go wrong with me medically. I am diabetic so my healing process is slower. Your assistance will be very significant in my life. I am working hard at being able to get around again, trying to keep my spirits up and learning how to adapt to this new and different life. I need assistance and I appreciate any help you can give me.
