Please Help This Single Mom And Veteran Who Is Going Through A Career Change to Keep Her Car!

My Story:

I am the mother of two beautiful children who is going through a divorce. My 9-year-old is an energetic, respectful young man who loves to use his imagination and build with Legos. My 3-year-old is a feisty, fun loving, dramatic little girl who just so happens to be my twin. At the moment, I work part time for an online tutoring service.

My hardship began last year when I finally made the decision to leave an abusive situation. At the time I was living in North Carolina with my husband working a fulltime job. The situation began to escalate to the point that I had to get a restraining order. I have no family there and decided that it was time for a fresh start and moved to out of state. When I moved to Houston I was under the impression that I had a position waiting for me. However, when I arrived and met the manager, I quickly changed my mind. For a while I had to borrow money from family members for groceries and rely on my VA disability. I recently accepted a fulltime position working for Texas Children Pediatrics. I need Modest Needs help to pay my car note payment, which is past due.

This is my only means of transportation. My husband does not pay me any child support. I am worried that if I do not soon make a payment, the bank will repossess my vehicle. By funding this grant I will not only be able to catch up on my car note but it will also put me and my family in a better position financially. My long-term career goal is go back to school to finish up my master's in clinical Mental Health specializing in Art Therapy. I want my children to understand that everyone has problems. In order to succeed you have to take life day by day. And the only thing that matters how you bounce back from those problems.
