This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeThank you simply isnt enough to express how I am feeling right now. That people were willing to take from their own responsibilities to help my family and I.the feeling is indescribable. When I submitted for this program, I am honest that I never thought my need was enough compared to some other folks situations. Yet somehow it was found in your hearts to help us. While to some it may seem a small thing, just a single months rent however for my family it is the greatest thing for us right now. Bringing our rent current means that I can finally breathe. With my being the only one working the strain of trying to take care of everyone has become almost painful. I have been trying to get us current while still being able to feed everyone. With this assistance our rent will be current. I can finally fill our fridge again. I wont have to watch my little boy eat ramen noodles. I grew up like this never really knowing if we would have what we needed. I wanted my son to grow up without having those fears. This last year since we moved here has been pretty rough. While I do not regret it I wish we could have been better prepared for things like this. But thanks to you folks helping us I can finally get us back on track and not have to be so scared and stressed anymore. I can get the fresh fruit that my son loves so much. My aging dog can finally go to the vet again. I so wish I could possibly express to you how unbelievably awestruck I am. As I am typing this tears are streaming and I am literally shaking with the relief and gratitude. From the very depths of my being I thank you. And please know that once we are back on track your kindness will be paid forward. Again thank you so very very much . I apologize for the punctuation issues. When I would save my note it changed to a garbled mess so i simply removed everything short of the periods.

Our New Apartment Had Mold And Made Me Sick. I'm Back To Work But We Need Rent Help.

My Story:

My family and I moved to Texas in September because a member of my husband's family is in hospice. He stays home and cares for our 3-year-old son and his family member. I work full time for AIG in the distributions department. We have two dogs, a golden retriever and black lab cross, Toby, and a papillon, Karon. Lastly, we have an orange tabby cat, Taylor.

We rented our home sight unseen as we were out of state at the time, preparing for the move. I began getting sick in January of this year and by March I had been rushed to the ER from work by an ambulance, seen a doctor over 4 times, and missed a lot of work. It turns out that the home we rent has mold throughout it and I am very allergic. I had to choose between feeding my family and paying rent. I am asking for Modest Needs' help with paying April's rent.

In Texas you can be evicted by being only one month late and we have already been served notice. If we are evicted, we will have nowhere to go. We do not currently have funds to pay for a deposit somewhere else and we have no family that is not in the hospital. My doctors have gotten my allergy under control and the property manager is working on the mold removal. Your help would ease my panic about my son being homeless. I am back to work full time along with overtime, we are completely capable of maintaining our costs of living. Don't let this piece of bad luck totally upend our lives.
