I Was Unemployed For Months. I Found A New Job, But We're About to Lose Our Home
My Story:
I'm a single mother with two young daughters a 10-month-old and 3-year-old. We love to be outdoors, sing together, and have story time. My girls are my world and I'm trying to get to a position where I'm no longer dependent on any assistance outside of my income. I started a job a month ago as a claims manager in Jacksonville, FL so I had to move from Orlando, FL.
I was on maternity leave last year and I was laid off one month after returning to work. I have been barely scraping by with food stamps and unemployment benefits, but I started a new job recently. Unfortunately, I had to move in order to accept the position. Paying moving costs after having no income for a few months was really tight. I'm living paycheck to paycheck and I need Modest Needs' help paying for one month's rent.
I was forced to file bankruptcy last year May 2017 due to medical bills from a high-risk pregnancy with my 2nd daughter. I've secured a place and a good job where I can support my daughters, but with moving last minute and trying to maintain bills on my limited income, I fear that without this assistance and nowhere else to turn, I will get evicted would start the cycle all over again. I would just like to actual create a savings and pay all my bills on time as I am starting over financially.
