I am a Single Mom Who Relocated After Unstable Employment. Please Help Us With Rent.

My Story:

I am a single mom of an active 6-year-old son. We relocated to from the Chicago area a year ago to start a new life in South Florida. I just began working full time as an Administrative Assistant at an agency that helps people find employment and employment training. When I am not working I spend time with my son enjoying the warm weather.

When I relocated to Florida I had a very small savings which I ended up using when I was not working a full-time schedule. The medical clinic I was employed at would close for weeks on end as the owner had business to take care of out of the country. Then I was hit with the effects of Hurricane Irma. Again, I was without income. I have now found more reliable employment, but I am behind on my rent. My landlord has been understanding but this one-time help will get me totally caught up. Once I get this help from Modest Needs, I will be able to maintain my expenses in the future.

Your help will bring my rent current and I will be able to take care of my finances. With the significant increase in my hourly pay, not only will I be able to pay my current bills, I can begin to start putting a little money aside each pay check to rebuild my savings for emergencies. Personally, I will be able to go back to being excited about this move and enjoy time with my son. It's been an extremely stressful and scary transition. Your help would be the blessing that I desperately need.
