Unexpected Medical Bill Related To Depression Not Covered By Insurance

My Story:

I moved out of my parents' house at 18 to go to college, but that didn't work out. I spent the summer after college working as a camp counselor with high school students, then spent a few months working 60 hours a week while living with my parents so I could save some money. I now work as a waitress and have lived alone in my own studio apartment for just over a year. I enjoy swing and ballroom dancing, hiking, going to the gym, catching up with friends over coffee, and making day trips back home to spend time with my family.

Since I was 15, I've struggled with major depression, sometimes leading to suicidal thoughts. It has gotten worse lately, and I can't afford therapy, so I have been looking for a second job, but so far I have not received a call back. I want help so that I can learn how to want to live. On January 2nd, the feeling of hopelessness overcame me and I attempted suicide. A friend called an ambulance to my apartment and now, because in intentional self-harm cases you don't have the right to refuse treatment, and insurance doesn't cover those cases either, I have a medical bill that is setting me even further back from getting the therapy I actually need. I am still looking for a second job and won't give up until I find one, but I need this bill taken care of so that I can use the income from my second job for therapy instead.

I am hoping for Modest Needs' help in paying this medical bill that wasn't covered by my insurance. Without therapy, my depression will get worse and worse until all hope is gone. This funding might go so far as to save my life. It would allow me to use my extra income to get therapy, to start discussing treatment options for the first time in my life. I could wake up one day and feel truly happy to be alive.
