For those who have come to my aid, in this my time of need, I want you to know, it is a difficult thing for me to share my woes with strangers. Even more difficult to ask for help. I was brought up to be self-sufficient, and I have always prided myself on being just that. This experience has given me not only piece of mind that my vehicle will not be stripped from my grasp, it will insure that I can attend my future medical appointments. Every time I tune in to the news, I am constantly bombarded with all of the negatives in society. Enough so that one can grow desensitized of it. Unfortunately, acts of kindness and selflessness seem not to be news worthy. One can grow cynical on such ideology. It is my opinion that you are all worthy to be the lead story on the nightly news, at the very least. You are all heroes, and in addition, I want to thank you for renewing the faith of this old cynic. My deepest thanks, and may flights of Angels watch over each and every one of you.
Disabled Veteran Needs A Little Help With Car Payment
My Story:
I am a US Army Veteran, who has always worked hard, and lived a very active life, until suffering a stroke earlier this year.
After the stroke, I was rendered permanently disabled. However, the process to apply for and receive disability payments took five months to get, and I did not receive back pay. Consequently, I received no income for that time, and my modest savings was depleted. I was able to keep a roof over my head, and the lights on, but just barely. When the approval of my disability came through, I thought that my problems would over. However, my benefits may pay my monthly bills, but I cannot bring my car payment current. I have more doctors appointments than you can shake a stick at, and the closest VA Hospital is an hour away. With all the medical care I require, this car isn't a luxury; it is a necessity.
This assistance would have a huge impact on my life. Bringing my outgoing payments to a level that I can work with in my meager budget. It will assure that I can make it to my medical appointments, as well as alleviate much of the stress from my life. In addition, I will no longer be forced to make the painful choice of paying a bill or buying groceries. For those who would help, there just isn't enough words to possibly thank you enough.
