I am so grateful for your prompt attention to this matter. The holidays can be a challenging time of year financially (and otherwise) for many families. Not having to spend extra money on this unusually high water bill is such a benefit and blessing to my household. Thank you so much! I truly appreciate each donor's contribution.
Needing Help High Utility Bill Caused By Undiagnosed Plumbing Issue
I am a single mother of an 11-year-old son. I work full time for an insurance company and am completing online courses towards my MBA. My son enjoys sports, video games, and playing with friends.
I purchased my first home this year. It has much more space than the apartments we were used to staying in. The home was sold as is. There were a lot of repairs that I had to make on my own. After I thought everything had been taken care of, the toilet in the guest bathroom downstairs was running. It still flushed and seemed to be working, so I didn't think anything of it until I got a water bill totaling nearly $1,500.00.
I went to the Water Resources Department to see what could be done. I showed them a receipt of the repair that was made to stop the running toilet. Although they adjusted my bill, it was only cut down, which still leaves me with a high amount to pay.
It would be greatly appreciated to have some one time help with this. I wasn't prepared for what is usually a $40 monthly expense to turn into a source of debt. Having this taken care of would keep me on track towards financial freedom as I have been working diligently the last 2 years to pay off credit cards.
