This person has left the following thank you note:
It takes people, such as yourself, to make this a great place. My family and I hit some hurdles, and when we needed someone to reach out to us and couldn't find that within our friends and families, we reached out to complete strangers. People who only read a short synopsis of our situation and found it within themselves, within their hearts to help us. If I could thank each one of you in person, I would. Even though you are strangers, you have a place in our hearts. You have shown your care, compassion and selflessness to my family and I will forever remember this. Thank you again for reaching out to help us in our time of need. We will pay it forward one day. Happy Holidays to all! Thank you again! ~Kelly and family
Car Broke Down, Missed Work, Need Help With Electric Bill
My Story:
I am a mother and have been since I was 16 years old. My oldest daughter has grown, married and had her own child, and I have two others that live with me. My daughter Kyla, is going to college to get her degree in Chemistry and helps out with her 1 year old brother. She loves to draw. She's been drawing for as far back as I can remember. My son Maddox just turned 1. He is such a good baby. My boyfriend of 4 years, Dwight, is a stay at home father to Maddox and is going to college online seeking his degree in horticulture. I am 37 and I have been working at Comcast for almost 2 years and am in line for a promotion to a supervisor at the beginning of next year.
Because I am the head of household and the only one who is employed, we do live paycheck to paycheck. Earlier this year, our car was totaled. We were sitting at a red light when two cars collided in front of us and ran right into us. We were forced to buy another car. What I didn't expect was that just a few months later, the car would break down. The fuel pump went out on it. Between the cost of tows and the repair, and the work I missed in order to deal with all this, we are now finding ourselves in need of some help.
If we are able to get the help we requested from Modest Needs, we would be so grateful. This money would allow us to get back on our feet. This money will allow us to breathe and get our savings back together in case something like this were to happen again. This money would truly help our family out and ensure my daughter and boyfriend can continue with school and that I can continue headed for my promotion at work. I thank you for your time and reading a little about us.
