Finance Our Family with Past-Due Rent. Please Help Us Keep Our Home.

My Story:

I am now a single mom with two small children at home. My 4-year-old daughter likes to sing and play with her 5-year-old brother. I work full-time as an operations clerk at a recycling facility, which is now less than 3 miles from my home.

My ex-fiance and I were involved in a domestic dispute that landed him in jail. He was working as a mover to pay the rent and utilities, while I paid the other bills. When he was arrested, he was already behind in rent. My landlord is now being patient with me as I don't want my children and I to be homeless. He is still incarcerated and I am just struggling to get everything back in order. I know if I was to get current, I can stay on top of things going forward.

If I don't get assistance, I will still try to make 'pay arrangements' with utilities/rent and do my best to pay what I can. I have already cut out expenses such as cable and internet and finding daycare next door to me, versus across town, but it is still not enough. It's only my income and I do not get any government assistance.
