Newly Single Mother, Fell Behind on Mortgage
My Story:
I am 39 years old. I have recently filed for divorce since my husband refused to help out financially. I work full time and am taking care of our 5 year old son alone. He is full of life and loves to ride his bike. He just started kindergarten and loves school and learning. I am trying to be a great mother and a decent father since both roles have landed on me.
My husband changed jobs earlier this year and went without income for almost a month. We fell behind on the mortgage. Since starting his new job he has refused to help me out financially with house bills and getting that month caught up from mortgage. He graduated from school in December and I support him in every way possible during school including paying all household expenses. Once he got a new job everything went downhill and he stopped helping me support our son and house. My mortgage is $650 plus the $25 late fee I am stuck with every month. This help would change our household so much.
I am always stressed out trying to figure out how I am going to pay for everything. My mortgage company takes my payment and applies it to the month prior and I am still a month behind. With this help, I will be caught up and my stress level can go back to normal and I can focus on giving my child a better, stress free life. I have become short tempered because of my situation and I try not to take it out on my son, but he is 5 and doesn't understand why mommy is on edge. This is not the way I want my son to see me. I want to be happy again.
