Retired Couple Struggling To Afford Home Repairs
My Story:
We are a married retired couple both with disabilities. I am a prostate cancer survivor and retired veteran. My wife is also a retiree who has Lupus and Congestive Heart failure. We also care for our disabled son who suffers from short term memory loss.
Two months ago, our furnace and A/C went out during the hottest point during the summer. My wife has a heart condition and was unable to breathe during the heat. Therefore, we were forced finance the repair of the furnace and A/C as it was just too hot for us. We need Modest Needs to help with the balance of our unexpected furnace expense. We had to finance this expense in order to have our furnace fixed quickly as it greatly interfered with my wife's health related issues.
This funding will allow us to be able to focus on other bills that have been let go at the moment due to our unexpected crisis. My wife has medical expenses that she has left unpaid to try and help with our unexpected expense.
