Starting A New Job But Employment Gap Could Make Us Homeless

My Story:

I am a single mother of 2 wonderful daughters, Jayda 3, and Diamond 15. I work for a call center to make ends meet every month and I am also earning a degree for a better job in the future to take care of my family.

I received a good job in 2015 and was working and able to provide for my family. I was laid off this year. I received unemployment to keep things but my benefits ran out just before I found my new job at the call center. This income gap means that rent is due and I will not have the money to pay on time.

I am worried about becoming homeless. I try to hide my pain from my kids because they shouldn't have to worry about things like this. It's my job to protect them and keep them safe. They see me crying and they say what's wrong and I just say nothing everything will be fine. This funding will definitely take the stress off of me and get me back on track. Once you get behind, it is hard to catch up. I would be forever grateful and this will show me and my family that there are good people out there and we can help each other.
