This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI would like to thank each and every person that has chosen to bless my family during this trying time. This is the first time that I have asked for assistance from an organization that wasn't government. To receive this help has shown me that people care, that there are people who understand that sometimes you just need a little help, with no judgement. Thank you for reminding me that there are people out there with big hearts, and they love everyone unconditionally

Car Crash Made Me Miss Work, My Family Could Be Evicted

My Story:

I am a married mother of two. My children are 18 and 17 and about to graduate from high school. My wife of 14 years is disabled. I work at Duke University Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and love helping others.

With my income, and my wife's disability, we are able to pay our monthly expenses. I got into a car crash in June that left me injured and unable to work for 3 weeks without pay. I am asking modest needs for assistance with my rent payment. Being short a paycheck, I was unable to pay my July rent. I have been trying to pick up extra shifts at my job to supplement income but I am afraid we might lose our apartment and have to move.

By receiving this funding, it will put us current on our rent, and allow us to stay in our apartment. This will also help us with being able to continue to pay our utilities on time, and I can get my car fixed from my accident.
