Single Mother Needs Rent Help After Missing Work

My Story:

I am a single mother of two children. My daughter has moved out and lives in Kansas City, and my son is living at home going to school. We have a wonderful chocolate lab who is blind. She is the happiest dog in the world and has no clue she has a problem (and she thinks she is a 'people'). I work as a project manager for a general contractor, so the work is fun but sporadic.

I was laid off my last project management job last October, and have had trouble finding another well-paying job since then. I have used up all of the money I have saved over the years, as well as cashing in my 401K for us to survive. Last month I was diagnosed with diverticulitis, and I have no health insurance. I was unable to work for over 4 weeks to try to recover from this painful illness. This made us fall so far behind I have no idea how we are going to survive. I need Modest Needs help in getting my rent payed.

Since I am back and work and earning again, plus finishing up my degree, I will (hopefully) be able to get a job that only those with a degree can obtain. This will help secure a safe and healthy home for my family. My son has seen me go through all of these horrible things, and it would be an awesome thing to show him that there really are wonderful people in this world that desire to help others and make a difference.
