Single Woman Missed Work After Father's Passing, Needs Rent Help
My Story:
I am a single woman recently trying to support herself independently. I struggle with chronic medical conditions that I have been actively getting treatment more. I work full-time at a workshop making designer jeans and pants.
I typically earn enough to support myself, but I tend to live paycheck to paycheck. Due to recently moving, my savings have been drained. Recently, my father suddenly passed away. He was an army veteran who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and came back with complications that eventually led to his passing. He lived in New Jersey, and I live in North Carolina. After hearing the news, I left for New Jersey and missed about a week of work to stay and take care of things as next of kin and to be able to see the viewing before cremation and the funeral. When I returned, I got a sever sinus infection that has kept me out of work for another week. On top of the grief, the physical and financial suffering is taking a toll on my well-being. I had been in a depressive episode before all of this occurred, and it's not getting a chance to improve. I need Modest Needs help with my rent payment.
Having help with rent this month will ease the burden and allow me to go back to managing things on my own, as well as allow me to start healing. My goal, after the expenses of August is taken care of, is to start building my savings account again so I can manage emergencies like this better. I hope that eventually I will be in a place financially to return the help I have received and pass it on to another who is struggling.
