Unexpected Job Loss: Back To Work But Desperately Need Rent Help
My Story:
I'm the mother of an 18-month-old little boy named Steven, after his father and my fiancé. He loves the CARS movies and really anything to do with cars. He also enjoys taking walks to the nearby airport and watching planes takeoff & land with Daddy. He's my best friend and our little miracle baby. We both work hard on opposite schedules but we do our best to make it work and are thankful for every free moment we have together.
Near the end of May, I was laid off from my serving job I had been at for almost 3yrs, because of a change in ownership. I had no warning, no severance and no last paycheck, as most my money was made daily by tips. I have a new serving job, but because I'm new I get last preference for extra shifts. Being unemployed for a month has really put us behind. We may not have a lot, but the thought of possible losing everything we've worked so hard for the last 3 years and not being able to provide for my son makes me sick. My Family is seeking help from this amazing organization to assist in paying for our upcoming rent.
This funding would allow us to focus on getting current and staying current. The farther behind we fall, the harder it is to dig our way out. This funding will allow us to avoid a domino effect of added late fees and eviction costs. I'm so thankful a foundation like this even exist, it gives people hope and strength to not allow a one-time financial crisis to be your defining moment in life. When a community comes together, anything is possible. Thank you.
