Utility Help After Cancer Diagnosis
My Story:
I am married with 3 beautiful children. I work full time as a Registered Nurse Supervisor. My oldest is 18 years old and will be attending culinary school in the fall at at The Art Institute. She loves baking and cooking. My middle daughter is 13 year old and is a typical teenager who loves hanging out with her friends and being on the phone. My youngest son is 11 years old and loves basketball and video games. We have 4 dogs and 2 bird whom the children are very fond of.
In October my mother in law was diagnosed with Liver Cancer. In February my husband had to quit his job and go home to Texas to care for his mother during surgery and recovery. I was able to make enough on my own paycheck to paycheck to make the bills each month while he was away. Upon his return home, on April 24, 2017 I received my diagnosis of Stage 3 Breast Cancer. I have had to miss work for testing, procedures, and chemo treatments causing my income to decrease making it hard to keep up with the bills. I need Modest Needs help with the electric which is one month behind. After trying to get caught up on the mortgage I was forced to pick and choose which bills to pick to pay. I am worried with the heat that we will have our electric shut off and the children and animals will be without.
This will help us be able to get ahead and get back on track starting fresh. It will not only be a financial relief but a mental one as well allowing me to focus on me and getting well rather then if the lights will be shut off today. I can also have time to put some money aside in case this happens again I will have a reserve. It will show my children there are good people out there still and encourage them to pay it forward.
