Single Woman Providing for Special Needs Sister Needs Utility Help
My Story:
I am a thirty year old single woman employed full time and am also a student. I work for the state as a Personal Support Worker which I absolutely love. I am fortunate enough to be able to spend time with individuals whom have intellectual disabilities and developmental delays. I am the sole care provider for my little sister who has some special needs. Jodi and I love doing crafts and just recently got in to painting our own canvasses that can be seen on the walls of our home. We are both avid animal lovers and are owned by a little kitten, Tesla, and our old lady dog, Kimber. Jodi doesn't work, but she has a provider group for individuals of the same likeness that she goes out in to the community with and develops friendships with while learning different skills.
I work hard to pay our bills and do earn enough to pay for us, however, we live paycheck to paycheck. I haven't been able to put away a savings. My vehicle was having some issues and broke down. This is my only transportation to get to work and to get Jodi to and from her activities, etc. The first time this happened was about a little less than a couple months ago and then a few weeks later it broke down again and cost an additional amount. This has put me in an extreme unexpected financial bind. I am doing my very best to overcome this. I am seeking assistance with paying for our utility bill through PGE. I am behind and am unable to get ahead with this bill. I have been trying to gather the money to pay it, but with rent having to come first among other basic living expenses it just hasn't happened. I am very worried that we will get shut off.
This funding will bring our utility bills current and enable me to get back on track and restore my sense of stability. This help will set a great example for my little sister in showing her that yes, we have struggles and life can be hard, but there are generous people in this world who do care and that we can overcome our obstacles and even though it may take some time, we are strong and capable and can come out on top. My little sister is my world and I want to give her the world.
