This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI cannot begin to express my deepest gratitude for your donations. My transiton out of the military wasn't easy at all especially being a single parent of two young boys. It has been a continuous struggle to keep my faith and stay strong that everything will work out and be alright. Your donations have renewed my faith and lifted a burden off my shoulders. In the beginning I wasn't even sure that I would receive help but I knew that I needed to try. It's hard asking for help from others when you need it; but this has shown that when you humble yourself and ask for help when you need it, someone even though they do not know who you are, will be there. Thank you again.

Veteran and Single Mom Needs Help After Waiting for GI Bill Payments

My Story:

I am a divorced mother of two handsome sons. My oldest will be four next month and loves everything about superheroes, cars, and running. My one year old is the most analytical, logically child I have ever had seen.

I was honorably discharged from the Navy in February. I immediately enrolled in school but the GI Bill has a thirty day waiting period for payments to start. During that time, I was attending school but not receiving income and the deficit became too difficult to recover from. I've managed to catch up on all my other bills, but I'm still short on catching up on my rent and I am now at the point where I am accumulating the late fees and court fees and am trying to get out of that hole. I'm worried I may be evicted along with my two children.

The rent is the last thing that is behind and I will be able to breathe freely and be stable again. I am currently in Nursing school on my last year, so I am working towards a career that will permanently keep myself and my boys stable. You would be bringing so much light into my life. The transition from active duty to civilian life has not been the easiest, and this would mean the world to me.
