Don't Let an Uninsured Driver Throw Me Out of My Home
My Story:
I am a single 24-year-old man who recently received my degree from CSUN. I work part time as a musical artist and work as an Uber driver, which has been my source of income since last year. I am excited for a new music project I am working on!
Unfortunately, on March 3rd, I was hit by an uninsured motorist while driving for Uber, which put my car out of commission for over a month and injured my neck and back. I have used all my resources from family to friends, picking up random craigslist gigs, and donating plasma to make up for the month I haven't been able to work, but it isn't enough to cover me completely. I am very stubborn when it comes to asking for assistance, but this is my last hope!
I need assistance from Modest Needs to pay my rent otherwise I will be evicted. My mother lives in a retired people's housing community which wouldn't allow me residency and all my other family lives out of state. If I lose my apartment, I'll have no where to go.
This funding will allow me to stay in my apartment and continue to heal after being injured in the crash. It will save me from having an eviction on my record that could keep me from being able to rent another apartment for up to 10 years. This assistance would give me the opportunity to get healthy and back on track to make a difference in the world. This help would enable me to give back to others that may also end up in a bad and uncontrollable situation in the future.
