I want to humbly thank everyone for their help. This means a lot to my family. This is an ongoing battle with the water company, but this payment will stop us from being disconnected. My husband and I are working hard to get back on our feet, and this situation was a major setback. This will help us so much and make a big difference in our household. City Misread Meter For Month, Huge Water Bill
My Story:
I am a married mother of two amazing sons. My 10 year old is extremely energetic and loves music, dancing, video games and sports. My 7 year old is really smart and always make the honor roll. He also loves music, video games, and animals. I work full time at a hospital, and my husband works at an automobile plant.
My husband was out of work for over a year. He found steady employment about 8 months ago and we are slowly getting ourselves back on track. We make enough to pay for monthly bills but our budget is very tight after losing an income for so long. After downsizing any unnecessary costs, and sticking to a strict budget we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But we just received an unusually high water bill. After contacting the water company, we were informed the bill we have been paying each month was just an estimate. The city did not have enough workers to actually come out to the business and residents to read the meter. When the meter was finally read several months later, they saw that the estimated bills we were paying were miscalculated. Our next bill was over $600.00. Of course we disputed this and even tried to apply for an adjustment but the end result is it must be paid or we are disconnected. We are asking Modest Needs to help us with this unforeseen expense.
We have struggled so much these past two years. My family and I are trying our best to get back on our feet. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to handle unexpected cost right now. This funding would help us continue on the path of stability. We have came a long way and are continuing to be focused and disciplined. We just need a little help right now.
