We Saved Our Best Friend but We're Losing Our Home
My Story:
I am a single mother of two fantastic sons. My oldest is a high school freshman, and my youngest is in the 7th grade. I am a civilian employee at a local law enforcement agency, and work long, rewarding hours at my job. My older son plays football for his high school, and my younger son is in the accelerated program and is also in the stand up comedy club at his school. We love to spend time together watching movies, and we all enjoy having the grandparents and friends over. We have a family dog, Buddy, who is only 7-years-old and greets us all every day with love and excitement.
During the holidays, we learned that Buddy had two cancerous tumors which needed to be removed immediately. This was a large and unexpected expense for our family, but we love our dog so much and are responsible owners. There was never a question as to whether or not we'd get him this surgery, even though this expense was well outside of our budget. Try as I might to find extra income, with two growing boys and only one income in our household, this expense hit us hard.
I am asking for Modest Needs' help to pay for one month of rent. The veterinarian bills put us in a financial bind, and I do not know how I will be able to get back on track with everything. Rent is by far the largest of all of our bills, and if we could receive this one-time help from Modest Needs, I will be able to bring all of the other outstanding bills current again, and be fully back on budget.
Your help would give me the ability to catch up with everything and get back on my feet. I truly believe in paying it forward, and plan to come back to this website as a contributor as soon as I can. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider my family and our request for assistance.
