I am sitting here, literally in tears as I type this testimonial to all the wonderful, selfless people who cared enough about me ( a total stranger)to contribute and make a sacrifice, so that I can get the car repair I so desperately need done. 'Thankyou' isn't nearly enough, to express my gratitude!. I've gone through an extremely stressful period over the past year, suffering with PTSD, losing a job over it, but still trying to stay positive, and was able to get another part time job.....however, some days it was so hard, especially when getting hit with one thing after another. (My oil burner broke down in January, and I didn't have the money to get it fixed, but I managed with space heaters) and hopefully, I will be able to get it fixed before next winter. My point in telling you about that, is to say, at a time when I was really feeling like no one cared, and was feeling completely overwhelmed, THIS most amazing news came in my email tonight! You ALL have made a difference.....especially in my world and I am so grateful. I intend to 'pay it forward' and contribute to Modest Needs as often as I can, so that others may be blessed with help such as I have been. Single Senior Citizen Needs Help Paying for Essential Car Repair Cost
My Story:
I am a single senior citizen, living on a limited income through Social Security retirement. I work part-time to supplement my income, but have not had many shifts available in recent months due to slow business. I hope to pick up more work soon.
My income enables me to cover my basic expenses each month, but does not allow me to set aside much in the way of emergency savings. My car, which allows me to work and live independently, needs a new wheel bearing on the front left, as well as an upper control arm on the same side. I was told the wheel could become loose if I continue to drive it in this state, and will be dangerous if I wait much longer to get it fixed.
I am asking for Modest Needs' help to pay for this unexpected repair expense. I fear that if I cannot get my car fixed soon, I will risk an accident. If I cannot drive, I will be unable to work or run errands for myself.
This unforeseen repair cost has put me in a financial bind, and if I am to pay for the repair, I will not be able to pay for my regular expenses. Your help will make it possible for me to stay current with my bills and have this important repair taken care of. I would be very grateful for this one-time assistance, and plan to rebuild an emergency fund once my work hours pick up again. I thank you in advance for your consideration. I appreciate it greatly!
