Disabled Veteran Needs Rental Help
My Story:
I am a disabled veteran, living on a fixed income. I have been going through back and forth with the VA for years in regards to my disability claims, and have struggled financially as a result. Thankfully, my partner has a full-time job that enables us to get by each month.
My partner is originally from Argentina but has been in the US for 18 years as a legal resident. Before we were together, she was a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her ex-husband. She has had to go through psychological treatment as part of her recovery, and these expenses, as well as the immigration attorney fees relating to her work to become a US citizen, have put us in a financial bind.
We are asking for Modest Needs to help us with our rent, which is now one month late. Due to the recent medical expenses and my partner's work with an immigration attorney, we fell behind on our rental payments. We are worried that we could lose our home if we cannot find some help to bounce back.
This one-time help will allow us to reestablish our financial stability, and would mean so much to us. Thank you so much for any help you may be able to offer.
