Single Mother Needs Rental Help due to Temporary Period of Unemployment
My Story:
I am a single mother of three amazing children. My oldest is 21, and was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in January 2016. He underwent aggressive treatment throughout the summer. Fortunately, after all treatment, he was declared in remission. My younger son is 16 and plays baseball. My 14-year-old daughter is a competitive gymnast who trains 27 hours per week while keeping up with her grades and schoolwork. I work full-time as an IT Customer Care Operations Analyst. I only started this job about six weeks ago after going through a period of unemployment.
I was laid off from my previous job last May, after the company founder passed away and his family decided to close the company. While I did do some contracting work, I did not find a full-time permanent position until late November 2016. The extended period of unemployment, as well as medical bills for my son's treatments, put me behind on virtually every bill, and I am having a great deal of trouble getting back to square one. I know that if I can just find a way to get things manageable again, I will be able to catch up fully and make things work.
I am asking Modest Needs for assistance with my past-due rental payment. I was unable to cover my rent due to the period of unemployment coupled with the fact I have been paying off very large medical bills for my son's treatment. I am concerned that my kids and I could lose our home if I do not find a way to catch up on rent very soon.
If you are able to assist me with my rent payment, that will mean I can use my next paycheck to get my car and utility bills current, and then have my monthly bills back on schedule. My family would be so grateful for your help- we really don't have anywhere else to turn. I know there are people in this world who want to help, and we are humbled that you are considering our application for assistance. We appreciate it more than you will ever know.
