Veteran Needs Help to Replace Tires on Family Vehicle
My Story:
I am a disabled veteran, working as a driver for a local afterschool children's program. I have not been able to find work in my profession yet, despite having a Master's degree, so I have worked wherever I could to make sure my family's needs are met. Before I began my current job a few months ago, I had been working as a manager at a warehouse. The company downsized, and my position was eliminated in the process. My wife works at the afterschool program as well, and also runs her own small business selling vintage goods and repurposed furniture at the local antique mall. We have two children, both of whom have special needs and require ongoing medical attention and therapies.
We have one vehicle, and we put a lot of wear and tear on it as we do a lot of driving to meet our kids' medical needs and our work obligations. All four tires on our car are worn out to an unsafe degree, but we are just managing to get by from paycheck to paycheck, and we are currently unable to afford a new set of tires.
We are asking for Modest Needs' help to replace the tires on our vehicle. This is our family's only transportation to work, school, medical appointments, errands, and for me to continue my search for better employment. We have kept it mechanically sound and running, but with bald tires, we cannot easily call it reliable and know we could get a flat at any moment. We are reaching out for help with this expense because we need to make sure our vehicle is safe and that we can continue taking care of our family.
Your help would keep our family safe, which is something that I can only repay with gratitude. This funding would provide us with the opportunity to remain stable and continue working hard to find better employment and improve our situation. This one-time help would have a long-lasting impact on our family.
