Divorced Mom Needs Rent Help after Temporary Loss of Income
I am a divorced mother of two daughters. My older daughter is in her senior year at college, and my younger daughter is a junior in high school. I work full-time as a teacher's assistant in a public high school and also have a part-time job at a group home. Despite having two jobs, I barely earn enough to cover basic expenses, and have not been able to build any kind of savings.
During the summer months, when school is out of session, I have always managed to find full-time work. However, this past summer things did not go according to plan and I was only able to obtain additional work on a part-time basis. Despite my best efforts to avoid this situation, I experienced a significant drop in my income and could not keep up with all of my financial obligations. I have been working hard to catch up on my bills, but still do not earn enough to get things fully back on track.
I am requesting Modest Needs' assistance to catch up with my rent payment. I am worried that I am continuously late paying our rent, my daughters and I could face eviction from our home. My biggest concern is keeping a roof over my children's heads, and these last few months have been terribly stressful for me.
Your assistance will bring me current with rent, and restore my peace of mind. I cannot tell you how much stress this help would alleviate. I would finally be able to get a full night's sleep instead of waking up throughout the rent in a state of panic over the late rent. I also want my children to be able to see that people cared enough to help us in our time of need, and use this as our inspiration to pay it forward to others once I am financially able.
