Major Car Repairs Put Me Behind on Rent
My Story:
I am a hardworking single woman, living alone. I have 6 brothers and two disabled parents whom I assist from time to time. I work full-time as a Benefit Advisor, assisting Medicare participants in choosing proper health plans for themselves and their spouses. I drive about 45 minutes each way to my job, and cannot get to work without my car.
Like plenty of others, I live from paycheck to paycheck. My car, which is 8 years old, recently broke down on me and needed very expensive repairs. I had to pay for the repairs in order to continue working, but this unforeseen expense has severely strained my budget. I pulled funds from my company savings plan, but still needed to use more than a full paycheck to cover the repair job.
I need Modest Needs' help with my rent this month. I am normally very punctual and responsible with my bills, but I have not been able to come up with my payment this month due to the vehicle repair costs. If I cannot find a way to pay my rent soon, I will lose my apartment. If that happens, my only possible option would be to move in with my disabled parents who do not have any space for an added person.
I have been taking on extra hours to try to recover financially, and hope to continue doing so and exploring other options so I can build an emergency fund to prevent this situation from occurring again in the future. Your assistance would make such a difference to me. It will relieve the anxiety and stress I have been under while trying to figure out a way to get my situation resolved. Your help will give me back my personal and financial stability and get me back on my feet. Thank you so much for your consideration. It means a lot to me.
