Words cannot express how grateful I am for your support. This holiday season has been very tough for us. We were barely able to provide Christmas for the kids, and due to limited hours I have not had the opportunity to work for almost three weeks. Despite all the stress and depression that we have felt, the past few days have been the brightest we have seen in a long time. This truly is the greatest gift of the season. Knowing that we can pay rent and use my husband's check to knock out a couple bills, has helped me so much. Your kindness has bought me more time to find a new and stable job and a chance to get caught up on our past due bills. Every day I lose a bit more faith in humanity. I hear things like 'Well, you would have more money if you didn't have kids.' or 'I call BS. You don't need help with bills. This is just a scam.' There is so little trust and faith in our society. Illness Caused Temporary Loss of Income from Work: Family Needs Rent Help
My Story:
I am a married mother of two precocious daughters. My 12-year-old is very intelligent and strong willed, and my 9-year-old is very compassionate and worries about everyone. Both girls love to spend time sewing and cooking. My husband has been the glue holding our lives together recently.
We manage to survive paycheck to paycheck, but there's never enough money to put away for savings. I was working for a company that recently moved to another area, leaving me unemployed. I was able to find a new job quickly, but had to decrease my hours due to medical issues, doctor appointments, and tests. I am now increasing my work hours, and should be able to return to a full-time schedule within a couple of weeks. However, the temporary drop in my income has set us behind on our bills, and we're struggling to stay afloat. We just need a breath of fresh air until I am able to get back to full-time work hours.
I am asking for Modest Needs' help with our rent. If we cannot come up with the payment we owe soon, my family will be in danger of losing our home. It feels like everything is starting to snowball and it is becoming so stressful. If we can just find a way to take care of our rent payment, we will be able to get back on our feet. If we can't, we risk losing our home and not being able to recover from this trying time.
Your assistance will relieve the stress that has affected our household, and will allow me to focus on my health so I can get back to work full-time as quickly as possible. If we're able to receive this help with our rent, which is our largest bill, we will be able to get caught up on the other bills. This would give us a fresh start, and allow us to breathe a sigh of relief. This one-time help will make a lasting impact by getting us back on track, and I will soon have full-time hours at work again, enabling us to stay on top of our finances going forward.
