Illness and Flooding Caused Financial Setback: Need One-Time Rent Help
My Story:
I am 44 and live alone. I am a former firefighter, but am no longer able to do that job due to severe arthritis, bone disease, and kidney failure. I had been working full-time until last month, when storms in my area caused household flooding, and forced me to miss some work.
I am now working part-time as a driver, and am actively seeking full-time work. I am earning less money than I was at my previous, so it is very hard to bounce back from the lost income and unexpected bills that have come up in recent weeks.
I am seeking one-time assistance with my rent so I can get back on schedule with my bills and work with my budget. My income should be back to normal within a few weeks, as I am in the process of being approved for disability payments. Your help would bridge the gap and allow me to continue supporting myself. It has not been easy for me to seek assistance. I have tried to take on as much work as possible to make ends meet. Despite my best efforts, my health issues have left me short on some of my expenses this month. Your assistance would make a big difference in helping me get back onto stable ground, and I really appreciate it.
