Lost Income while Hospitalized: Please Help with Rent
My Story:
My wife and I are recently married, and we have one beautiful and energetic 2-year-old daughter, and a second child due in just a couple of months. I am a military veteran who has been working for my state's Department of Education as a substitute teacher. My wife is a stay-at-home mom, currently pursuing her Master's degree in Psychology.
Last month, I was hospitalized due to illness. Shortly after being admitted, my doctors discovered that I have a rare bone marrow disorder called Aplastic Anemia. Basically, this means I am deficient in blood and will possibly need a bone marrow transplant if current treatment is unsuccessful. I have not been able to work since going to the hospital, and cannot support my family on the small disability income I receive for an existing disability.
I am asking for Modest Needs to help me with our current rent balance. Although we have a few very important monthly bills, rent is the most important one. I am concerned that my pregnant wife, young daughter, and I could face eviction from our home. Due to my current condition and my wife being seven months pregnant while caring for a toddler, the possibility of homelessness is absolutely terrifying. I am hoping you may be able to help us with our rent so we can stay afloat until I am well enough to return to work.
Your assistance would go a long way in relieving some of the stress and worry we are experiencing. Right now we are uncertain as to how we will cover all of the bills while my income is stopped, and this grant would restore our hope and feelings of stability. This would be a wonderful gift to us, and would assure us that we can get past this difficult time while maintaining our financial responsibilities. Your help will allow me to focus on my healing and being able to once again provide security for my growing family.
