This person has left the following thank you note:
I would like to truly thank you for helping me and my family. The cost of healthcare and insurance even medicare are so extreme; I literally have to decide whether to have a procedure or pay my house payment. This is what you have done for me. I have to make decisions sometimes that do not promote good health so that my family can have what they need. I am humbled and thankful to each and every donor! Thank you and Merry Christmas.
Father with MS Struggling to Make the Mortgage After Paying Out of Pocket MRI Costs
My Story:
I am a disabled husband, father, and Grandfather. I was diagnosed in 2007 with Multiple Sclerosis. I have one daughter that still lives at home, and my wife is the director of a Childcare Facility. I had to have an MRI as part of my doctor's way to chart my disease progression. The MSAA ran out of funds to help me this year, so I had to pay for the MRI before I had it done. The cost of my disease, with doctors and medicine, is over $5,000.00 a month. Because of the additional cost of the MRI we are now unable to make our house payment.
I am turning to Modest Needs for help with our mortgage this month. I needed to have the MRI done, but now I am struggling to find any way to pay our mortgage bill. I am very worried about what will happen if we do not receive a little support.
This grant will allow my household the ability to keep our mortgage current, and it will take a tremendous amount of stress off of me. It will also help to keep the pressures of my disease from causing an increased strain on my family.
