Mom Needs Rent Help after Taking Leave From Work to Grieve Loss of Children's Father
My Story:
I am a single mother of two daughters, ages 7 and 8. I work for the city, and have had my job for the last 7 years. I am hardworking, and I provide for and support my children 100%.
We recently suffered the tragic loss of their father, who was very supportive in their lives. I worked non-stop after his death, but the grief recently caught up with me, and I had to take a break from work. The temporary drop in my income has caused financial hardship, and while I am returning to work soon, I am not able to meet all of my expenses this month.
I am seeking help with our rent this month. I worked as much as possible, but I was overcome and knew I needed to take a break in order to continue performing well at my job. This loss of income has hit me hard, and I am growing increasingly worried my daughters and I could lose our home if we do not find some short-term assistance to make it through the month.
If we are able to receive this help with our rent, I will be able to let go of some of the stress and worry of possible eviction as I return to my job. Your assistance will bring me back on track, and allow me to soon be in a position where I can pay it forward to help another family in need.
