I would like thank all the donors at modest needs for helping me because without your help I would not be able to get my car fixed and be ready for the winter. I appreciate that there are very kind people out there in the world that reach out to help out people in times of need. Getting my car fixed will allow me to work and get around in the tough winter ahead. As you know since I have stated since the beginning, my husband passed away from cancer last year and it has been very hard on me and my family. He was truly a wonderful man who was very kind to people and had to work hard most of his life in drywall and later on in beekeeping. I hope one day that the medical community can find a cure for cancer. I appreciate the modest need donors that can look at person like me and be willing to donate their hard earn money on a person that you don't know very well. In the future, if someone needed help on modest needs, I would be very welcoming to donate in order to help out a person in need to return the favor. Widow of Veteran Needs Help to Make Vehicle Safe to Drive this Winter
My Story:
I am a widow who lives alone. I work cleaning houses, and also work for my local school district. My earnings are very limited. My husband, who passed away from cancer, was a veteran who served in the National Guard several years ago. I was told by the VA that I was not able to receive any pension because he had not spent enough time in service. I live paycheck to paycheck, and struggle to pay for anything that is outside of my regular budget.
I recently had to pay for some vehicle repairs that included a new battery and replacement of the brake lines. When I had my car inspected, the mechanic told me that I need to have work done on the abs brakes and replace the worn tires before winter. I have no way of paying for this expense on top of my regular bills.
I am asking for Modest Needs' help to fix my car. I am worried that my brakes will not work properly, or my tires will cause me to skid once it gets cold/wet outside. If I do not find a way to fix my car, I will not be able to work and earn any income.
Your help would keep me on track and will take a big worry off of my plate. I am genuinely thankful for any assistance you may be able to provide, and appreciate your time and consideration.
