Military Family Needs Rent Help after Mom was Injured in Accident and Missed Work
My Story:
I am a married mother of two amazing children. My 11-year-old son is very bright, funny, caring, and is an avid soccer player. My 4-year-old daughter is very energetic, loving, and enjoys playing outdoors. Both of my kids enjoy board games during family time, ever night after dinner. My husband works a full-time job and continues serving in the Army Reserve. I was working as an agency service representative with a reputable insurance company until late 2015, when I was in an accident that left me with a severe concussion.
My injuries forced to take disability leave from my job, and then FMLA. We have since exhausted the little savings we had, and we're now struggling to make ends meet. Prior to my accident, we were planning to move into a new home, as we have outgrown our 2 bedroom apartment. While we were not wealthy, we were finally getting ahead. This unexpected hardship has really set us back, and now we are behind on our bills and forced to choose between keeping our car and the roof over our family's heads.
We are asking for Modest Needs' help with our rent payment. My husband will lose his job without the car, so we've taken care of that payment. However, we are now worried that we could be evicted from our home if we do not catch up with the rent payment very soon.
Your assistance will bring us current with our bills again, and we will no longer have to juggle which one of the two most important bills we can pay each month. I should be well enough to start working again very soon, and with this help, we will be able to be back on track. Your assistance would make a long lasting impact on our family by restoring our stability and making things manageable again. This will show our children that it is ok to ask for help when we truly need it, but more importantly, it will show them that we also must do all we can to help others who are in need when we are able.
