Single Worker Facing Electric Disconnection after Temporary Reduction in Work Hours
My Story:
I am a single woman, living alone with my cat. I love my cat with all my heart and would gladly spend my last dollar on her food and care before my own to make sure she is always happy and healthy. I work full-time at a hotel, and like to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.
My job hours were temporarily reduced, causing me to struggle with my financial obligations this month. I am doing the best I can, but after making payments on an unexpected medical bill, I am having trouble getting back on track.
I am asking for Modest Needs' assistance with the past-due electric bill balance. I was denied assistance through my utility company because my full-time work status disqualifies me for their program. I am running out of options, and don't have anywhere I can turn for help. Even if I find a second job that fits around my current work schedule, my utilities will be turned off if I do not find a way to pay the past-due balance immediately.
Your help would be a true blessing and relief to me. Just being able to keep my utilities from being disconnected would make everything feel manageable again. I am trying so hard to get back on my feet, but right now I need to ask for a little help to get there.
