Single Mom Needs Help With Rent After an Emergency Surgery
My Story:
I am a single mother to my twelve-year-old daughter. She is extremely energetic and loves to dance and sing. I am a fulltime server and have worked for the same company for over 8 years. I am normally able to pay all of my bills every month, but due to an emergency surgery to remove a portion of my smaller and larger intestines, and my appendix, I have been out of work and recovering. I am the sole provider for my daughter and I so being out of work and not earning my usual wages has been extremely hard. I am so worried that we will lose our housing.
I am turning to Modest Needs for help with our rental payment. I do not have family here and my daughter and I would have no where to go if we were evicted. I am trying so hard to recovery as quickly as I can so I can return to work, but I am afraid that we will end up homeless before that happens.
This funding would bring such relief to the stress I am feeling. I could focus on my recovery and not worry so much. This help will have a long term impact on us, and allow me to continue to provide for our household going forward. It's reassuring that there are still good people, and organizations, that help others in their time of need. Even though my daughter may not understand fully the meaning of this help, in the future I will be able to talk to her about this situation, and I will be able to use this as an example of how people help each other out. It is a wonderful lesson for her that if you can you should extend a helping hand. Thank you so much for considering our story.
