Family Needs Help to Pay for Mom's Medical Bill from Unexpected Blindness in One Eye

My Story:

I am married father of three wonderful children. My seventeen-year-old is really excited to head to college in the fall to study psychology. My fifteen-year-old will be starting her sophomore year this fall, and our very energetic eight-year-old will be starting second grade. My wife and I are so proud of our children. I work fulltime as a sales representative selling library software, and my wife works with the church and the school every week. We earn just enough to pay for our basic expenses every month, and like many families, live pay check to pay. Last September my wife woke up with what we thought was pink eye. She went to the doctor and was given drops, but when it didn't get better we went to a retina specialist. She ended up going blind in her left eye and then it started to progress to her right eye. She underwent emergency treatment and can now see with her right eye, but is permanently blind in her left. My wife will continue to need medical care and follow ups. With our tight budget we just cannot afford the out of pocket medical expenses we have.

We are asking Modest Needs for help with our medical bill. We don't have any extra funds to pay this, and any help would be much appreciated. We are worried that if this isn't paid my wife wont' be able to see the doctor as needed, and that we will end up with our wages garnished. This could really put us in a bad spot.

This funding would help us financially and will restore our sense of stability. We are working hard to ensure that we are not in this situation again. Once she has medical clearance my wife will start substitute teaching again, which will allow us to build up a safety net in case of an emergency like this in the future. With your help we can get back on track. It would mean so much to my family and we truly appreciate your assistance.
