Working Family Needs Rent Help Due to Unexpected Medical Expenses and Car Repairs

My Story:

I am a married mom of three wonderful sons. My 12-year-old is very sociable and LOVES basketball, my 10-year-old loves football and basketball. He was just recently diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, auditory processing disorder, and anxiety with adjustment to change. My 6-year-old is the most energetic and full-of-life child I have ever met! My husband and I both work full-time. I am an Administrative Assistant at a university, and my husband works full-time temp positions.

We earn enough to pay for all of our basic expenses and household bills every month, but we do live paycheck to paycheck. Recently, we had to pay for medical expenses for our son that set us back. When his insurance coverage changed, we had to pay for some very expensive prescription medications out of pocket, along with other expenses relating to his therapies and treatments. We also just learned that we need to pay for a new water pump and labor costs to fix our only vehicle. The unexpected expenses that we incurred over the last month have put a major strain on our budget, and we're starting to fall behind on our regular bills.

We are requesting Modest Needs' help with our rent this month. We are concerned about growing late fees, as well as the possibility of eviction. If we could receive help with one month of rent, we will have a way to get all of our other expenses current, provide our son with his medications, and have a reliable safe car to drive to work and appointments.

This funding will give us a fresh start and get us back on to our budget. We will be caught up with our expenses and able to budget better for our son's medical expenses going forward. We appreciate your consideration.
