Grandmother Needs Help with Mortgage after Taking Custody of Grandson
My Story:
I am divorced, and have one grown daughter and two wonderful grandchildren. They are my whole world! I spent 30 years in my career as a teacher, and retired in 2007. My retirement income allows me to cover my bills each month, but there is not much room for anything else in my budget.
My daughter has struggled with substance abuse issues, although it was years before I learned about this. Shortly after having her son, she became addicted to prescription drugs, and was not able to be a suitable parent. When I learned about what was going on, I had her committed to a treatment facility. During her treatment, I had to file for custody of my grandson. The added childcare costs, and the legal expenses have put me behind on my regular bills. The good news is that my daughter is now clean, and passing her drug tests.
I need help to pay for my mortgage this month. The recent expenses to care for and obtain custody of my grandson have made things difficult financially, and I need some help to get back on track. I am happy to be able to help my grandchildren, and help my daughter, but I also need to maintain stability in my home, and this is why I am turning to Modest Needs for assistance.
This funding will ensure that I keep my home and that my grandson will be able to have all of his needs met. Thank you.
