Veteran Needs Help to Keep Utilities on After 3rd Major Surgery

My Story:

I am a 35-year-old female who served my country from 2000-2008. I currently live in San Diego with a roommate. I am a full-time phlebotomist. I have worked hard since the day I was old enough to babysit and throw a newspaper as a paper route girl. When I graduated high school I was attending a Jr. college trying to figure out how I was going to pay for each semester. With my parents not having the financial means to help me through college, I decided to sign up for the Army National Guard. Little did I know the tragedy of 9/11 would directly change my life. I was head medic in a military police unit at the time of the attack. Shortly after returning home from my post in Washington my unit was activated to Baghdad, Iraq. Since being back from deployments I have continued working and going to school to better myself, until recently when my medical situations have slowed me down tremendously. In the course of 15 months my life took a downward spiral and I have had two major surgeries and am currently on temporary leave from work for my third surgery. I am in desperate need of help with my utility bill, and I don't know where else to turn.

I am asking Modest Needs for help with my utility bill. Without this help I do not know how I will keep my gas and power on. I am really worried that my utilities will be cut off and I will be without them during my recovery.

If you could find it in your hearts to help me it would be a huge blessing. It will help me get out of this financial rut I am in. After trying so many different avenues, and trying to get help from the state, only to be shot down, it would be a true blessing to get the assistance I need. I would be able to breath again. Stability would be a great feeling to have again.
