This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeYou know what, although I was hanging in there hoping to God that my request would be fully funded, and was feeling despondent and forlorn, because times have been tough as I tried to catch up with no success. I've had to do the unthinkable and borrow from one of those quick loan places, because my regularly scheduled job is part-time, and I have only been able to pick up just 3 days of Substitute Teaching that were assigned on my days off. It has been miserable trying to 'Borrow from Peter to Pay Paul.' So, imagine when I saw the 'subject line' of your email that had good news, .. I was almost too scared to open it. Gingerly, I opened it, and held my breath at the same time; and the good news made my nose 'sting' from the swelling of anticipation. I just sat there and glared at the message and read it over and over until it registered and I was able to 'snap out of the shock' and exhale with happiness. I promise that when I get on my feet, my heart's desire is to be a blessing to Modest Needs Foundation and pay it forward - by paying it back to you as a donation for others. The exhaustion of 'juggling several plates' has been met with some relief. Thank you so much for showing your kindness through rental assistance. May you be richly blessed for the wonderful sun-shine .. you bring to others!

Seeking Rental Help After Just Starting New Job

My Story:

Due to the dismal job economy, especially for individuals over 55+ years of age (I'm 60) the job market has proven especially difficult. Although I have a Master Degree and even though I present myself in a professional yet contemporary and assertive way it has been hard to find work. I am happy to say that I was finally hired as a part-time School Instructional Assistant and was also hired as a Substitute Teacher for the days I am not at my regular part-time school job. I just started my job and due to the period of unemployment I had I am in desperate need of rental help. Even though I am working I do not know how I will catch up in time.

I am asking Modest Needs for help with my rental payment. In addition, I started working during the holiday season and as a non-exempt employee I do not get paid for holidays. These holidays affected my income and will continue to do so for the month of January and February.

If I could just get over this hump then I'll be well on my way to becoming self-supportive and independent.
