Unexpected Emergency Medical Costs and Missed Work: Family Needs Mortgage Assistance

My Story:

I am a married mother of two wonderfully creative daughters. I work full-time as a registered veterinary technician, so of course our home is filled with rescued animals (currently a dog, a cat, and a rabbit). Our family is originally from New England, but we're adjusting to life in the Midwest since relocating to Indiana.

Shortly after we moved here, my husband was hospitalized for 10 days with heart failure. The mounting medical bills, coupled with his temporary inability to work, have caused a tremendous financial strain on our household. Like many other families, we live from paycheck to paycheck. The recent expenses and reduced income, however, have caused us to fall behind on our mortgage payment.

We are asking Modest Needs to help us catch up with our mortgage. We just have not been able to get our heads above water, despite my working two jobs. We are terrified that we will lose our home. We have worked so hard to finally be able to have a home of our own and to live somewhere with a lower cost of living. I do not want my girls to have their sense of stability torn away.

Your assistance would get us back on track with our mortgage and give us a huge sense of relief. We are truly humbled to be in a position where we are looking to others for help, and we would greatly appreciate any assistance you may be able to offer. We are very hopeful that my husband will soon be able to return to work, and that we will soon be in a position where we can pay the kindness forward to others.
