Thank you for this unexpextantly blessing. It came at a critical time in my life. After applying for this help, I found out that I have cancer. This requires me to go to doctor appointments more than previously. Now, I can get my truck fixed and get to my appointments safely. I was struggling trying to get to my appointments without breaking down. I tried getting rides, but some of the persons were unreliable and left me without a way to get to scheduled appointments which puts back my schedule for treatment. You all have really blessed me an enabled me to fight this fight. I really would like to thank you so much!
Car Unsafe to Drive: Retired Couple in Rural Area Needs Urgent Repair Help
My Story:
We are a married couple in our 60s. Both my wife and I are retired, and we live on a fixed income from our Social Security. Due to physical health issues, neither one of us is able to work to supplement our income. We would both like to work if we could, though. I used to be a tailor, and my wife was a nurse. We both deal with spinal issues, and we have both had to go through orthopedic surgeries in recent months. To put it simply, we just do the best we can.
We need Modest Needs to help us pay for repairs for our only vehicle. I have recently had spinal surgery, and my wife is about to have knee surgery. We fear that without help to fix our car, we will be stranded and have no way of getting to our appointments, and that we will not even be able to go to get groceries. We live in a rural area, and both of us are physically disabled. We do not know how we will survive without a car. Our inability to pay for the repairs we need has caused us a great deal of stress, worry, and sadness.
If you can assist us in fixing our car, it would be a great help to us. This gift will enable us to go to our medical appointments and receive the care we need to live as healthfully as possible. It would reduce so much of the stress and anxiety of not knowing what we will do if our car breaks down on the side of the road. The less stress we have, the better we can manage our health issues. This would give us such peace of mind, knowing that when we go to the doctor, we will actually be able to get there safely.
