Single Mom Needs Help with Mortgage After Paying for Unexpected Car Repair Costs
My Story:
I am a single mom with two daughters, ages 19 and 17. My 75-year-old mother also lives with me so that I can help take care of her. I work full-time at a relocation company, and earn just enough to afford our household's basic monthly expenses. I do not have a way of saving for emergencies, so when my car suddenly needed major repairs to continue running, it became impossible for me to keep up with all of our expenses.
I need Modest Needs to help me catch up with my mortgage payment. I had to choose between fixing my car so that I could get to work and paying the mortgage. I could not risk losing my job and no longer being able to take care of my family, so I used my mortgage money to repair my vehicle. I am very worried that I could lose my home and that my family and I will wind up in a shelter, and I don't have anywhere else I can turn for help. I have taken on additional (seasonal) employment at a tax preparation company to help supplement my income, and I intend to find a long-term second job so that we do not ever wind up in this kind of predicament again.
This assistance would really change my life. I do not have people I can turn to for support in hard times, but my daughters and mother look to me for everything. It would mean so much to me to know that strangers reached out to help me in my time of need. I am truly grateful to all of the generous people who may consider assisting me, and making a long-lasting difference in my life. I would be extremely appreciative and humbled by your kindness.
