Electric Bill Help! I have MS And Am Facing a Shut-Off!
My Story:
I am a 42-year-old woman, diagnosed with MS, living with my husband and 2 small dogs. We have 3 grown sons, who live away. Both my husband and I have medical conditions and are not able to work, thus surviving on a fixed income. Due to our conditions we had to both retire in our 30's. I am currently blind in one eye and in a wheelchair.
We are turning to Modest Needs to help us afford an electric bill which is unusually high. As a result of my MS, the summer heat wave caused us to constantly run the A/C, as the heat can be detrimental to my health. This put our electric bill beyond our means. We are currently facing a shut-off, and we have no way of paying this bill in time. We already live on such a tight budget, that saving from it would take us much longer than we actually have. If we lose power, our health will be severely affected, and I am in fear of what will happen to us.
Our income is normally enough to sustain us, and with taking this bill of our shoulders, I know that we will be fine going forward. I am afraid that without your help we will have to sacrifice buying important medications or another regular monthly expense. Your help would really mean a lot to us a lot. Thank you!
