This person has left the following thank you note:

Frankly, I did this with little hope of seeing anything happen. I told myself to brace for the worst as it was the most likely outcome... and I have never been so glad to be wrong in my life. This is a wonderful chunk of support that has really renewed my faith in what one person with a -modest need- can hope for. Thank you, bless you, and may you never need to ask for help. And, if you do, my sincerest wish id that I'll find your request here and be able to anonymously repay your good will. Thanks x 1000!

Veteran In Wheelchair Desperately Needs New Tires In Order To Pass Upcoming Inspection!

My Story:

I am a veteran from the Desert Storm Era, living with my wife and two incredible kids who are both, under the age of 10. I am disabled in a wheelchair and my wife tends to me, while working part-time for the local school. We are doing our best to keep the bills paid, and have learned to live on our limited income. I am working as hard as I can, not to leave my family in debt on my account and have opted out of any out-of-pocket medical treatments. It hurts not to be useful anymore, but I do see myself as a lucky person, due to the fact I have made it so far and believe that good fortune will prevail for my family.

I am turning to Modest Needs for help, because I desperately need to replace the tires on our aging car. The car is set up especially for me and allows me to get to the VA Hospital on a weekly basis. We have no other vehicle, and the tires are currently in such poor shape that it will fail its nearly approaching inspection. Because the car has adaptations for me, the tires wear out quicker. Besides that, the car is in excellent shape, and just this help will help it go a long way. Saving up for such necessities is a big challenge for our family. I really hate the fact that by driving on these old and bald tires, I am increasing the odds of something bad happening. I am using public transit as much as possible, but it ends up adding more than three hours to my hospital trip.

Having this financial roadblock removed will allow us to cope with whatever else comes ahead. Better food and a toy or two are always waiting at the edge of our finances. By paying this off and relieving the stress it is causing will mean a more joyful run at this new school year. Thank you!
