This person has left the following thank you note:
Thanks so much to each of you for helping with my co-pay for physical therapy. I've had MS for about 17 years now. It has primarily affected my legs. It has been both physically and financially challenging to do everything possible to keep my ability to walk. It's so very important to me to remain self sufficient. Thanks to your generosity in helping pay for the therapy and the new leg brace I'll be getting soon (which insurance will cover) I believe it will become easier and less exhausting to do the walking necessary for daily activities. I'm also hoping to possibly enjoy doing a couple of other things also. It's been a real struggle these last few months, but thanks to your kindness and generosity I look forward to tomorrow. It's hard to express how deeply appreciative I am to each of you, so just know I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Woman With MS Seeking Help With Medical Co-Pay in Order to Continue Necessary Physical Therapy
I am a retired woman living on my own. I have Multiple Sclerosis, which has left me unable to work. I volunteer as much as I can at the local homeless shelter, but due to my condition I am able to do so only one day a week. I have numerous medical expenses due to rented accessibility equipment and co-pays.
I am currently in need of physical therapy for my right leg and am asking Modest Needs to help me with the copay. I have Right Drop Foot, and I trip a lot because my foot doesn't work well. The therapy will help me to keep my hip in place and straighten my leg so I can walk better and remain independent. I am unable to afford the co-pays for this bill due the fact I live on a fixed income and have a very tight budget not permitting for much extra. In addition, I had to do some mandatory home repairs which drained my savings. I am very afraid of what might happen to me if I am unable to go through this therapy, as I would have to choose between the costs for my walking aid and the therapy.
I have always managed on my own and have never asked anyone for assistance, but I have reached a point where I can physically not afford all of the medical expenses along with my home repairs. If I am awarded the opportunity to continue with the physical therapy for my leg, I will be ever so grateful. I would be able to do so much more if I can get my leg aligned better, including continuing being independent and volunteering more. Thank you!
